What Quill says (transcript)
- Welcome to The Cursive Club! Today's letter is p.
- Cursive is movement on paper. Body, arm, wrist, hand, pencil.
- Stand up, and bounce a basketball with me!
- Up, dribble down low, and bounce back up into a belly!
- p is b's cousin. It dribbles down below the baseline.
- Now watch the letter p.
- Start on the baseline. Undercurve up to the midline.
- Slant down, all the way below the baseline.
- Loop back up, and swing a round belly.
- Again, a little faster. Up, down, loop, belly.
- Now, nice and quick.
- Your turn! Trace the gray letters in your book.
- Go slow, and start at the dot.
- Keep your pencil on the paper. It's all one stroke.
- Dip below the baseline, then come back up for the belly.
- Now let's join p, i, and e, to write pie.
- Dribble down, belly, then swing into the i and the e.
- Dot the i at the end.
- Great job, cursive star! Pause and practice on your page!
