- Welcome to The Cursive Club! Today's letter is j.
- Cursive is movement on paper. Body, arm, wrist, hand, pencil.
- Stand up, and cast a fishing line with me!
- Flick up, dive down under the water, and loop back up!
- Like i, with a tail that dives under the baseline. That's the letter j.
- Now watch the letter j.
- Start on the baseline. Undercurve up to the midline.
- Slant down, all the way below the baseline.
- Loop back up to the baseline.
- Add the dot last!
- Again, a little faster. Up, down, dive, loop, dot.
- Now, nice and quick.
- Your turn! Trace the gray letters in your book.
- Go slow, and start at the dot.
- When you write, keep your pencil on the paper.
- Lift it only at the end, to add the dot.
- Great job, cursive star! Pause and practice on your page!
